About Bamboo

Bamboo is a group of perennial evergreens in the true grass family Poaceae,There are more than 70 generadivided into about 1,450 species in the world, Of which about 500 species are distributed in China.

Bamboo is the fastest growing woody plants in the world. They are capable of growing up to 60 centimeters (24 in.) or more per day due to a unique  rhizome-dependent system. For 1 hectare bamboo grove, all the roots massively buried under it might stretch to about 24620kms long. With this the extensive roots, Bamboo has played a very important role in aspect of soil and water conservation. Moreover, those roots continually sends up new shoots, naturally replenishing itself, making it one of the most renewable resources known.

Due to its natural aesthetic beauty, incredible strengh, and advantages as a sustainable and Eco-friendly substitutes for increasingly depleted hard wood recourses, Bamboo has been taken as notable economical and versatile raw material extensively used in construction and decoration flied for centuries.

Why Bamboo

Eco-friendly, with marvelous growing speed, bamboo grows to its maximum height in about 3 months and reaches maturity in 3-4 years. It spreads rapidly across large areas. That makes bamboo and ideal choice to improve soil quality in degraded and eroded areas of land.

Sustainable recourse, Bamboo is 100% naturally grown; no extra labor attendance is needed.

Bamboo helps mitigate water pollution due to its high nitrogen consumption function, making it a solution for excess nutrient uptake of waste water from manufacturing, livestock farming and sewage treatment.

Green Plantation: No pesticides or fertilizers involved in growing process.

Bamboo produces up to 35% more oxygen than hardwood trees and absorbs four times as much carbon. That will dramatically help to alleviate the green house problem, so as to bamboo is recognized as a green material under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building certification.

The characteristics of bamboo

Hard wearing qualities: Bamboo has a higher fiber rating than any hard wood, which gives it exceptional hard wearing qualities. Testing to ASTM 1037 procedures, bamboo shows an average hardness of 1642, which makes it harder than Red oak and maple.

High Density, Bamboo The average density of bamboo products is 700kg/m3 or more.

Moisture resistant, Bamboo is stronger and denser than most of the hardwoods, with its remarkable temperate characteristics, bamboo is much better to be able to withstand moisture and temperature fluctuation than wood.

Dimensional Stability: It is approximately 2.5 times more and more stable than commonly used wood flooring that makes bamboo outstanding in standing up to seasonal and climate changes.

Compressive Strength: Testing to ASTM3501-86 A produced, Compression parallel to grain:7000 PSI  Compression perpendicular to grain:2624 PSI, that is higher than many mixtures of concrete. It even has a higher strength to weight ratio than graphite.

Flexile: Modulus of Elasticity 940,000 PSI .

Tensile Strength: Testing to ASTM 3500-90 A yielded result of 15,300 PSI parallel to grain. In structural engineering tests, bamboo has a higher tensile strength than many alloys of steel。

Insect resistant. Bamboo fibers contain a kind of substance named silica that is associated with the glassy sturdiness of sand, which helps bamboo poles resist rot and termites.

Utilization of Bamboo

Construction and building material, even has ever been used as reinforcement the concrete in buildings.
Decoration and floor covering material, Such as flooring, molding, wall base etc.
Furniture & Household ware. Fence, door, windows, vent, curtain, mat, handrail.
Cloth & Textiles.
Food & cooking ware.
